Habitat et biologie: Benthique sur fonds de vase, de graviers ou de rochers, de 25 а 570 m, surtout au-dessous de 80 m. Reproduction au printemps et en йtй. Maturitй sexuelle а 2 ans (11 cm). Se nourrit de crustacйs (surtout Mysidacйs et Amphipodes).

Spiny Gurnard, Lepidotrigla papilio - English

The Spiny Gurnard has a an ocellus on the first dorsal fin and pectoral fins with blue margins. The three lower pectoral fin rays are detached and thickened. Enlarged spiny scales run along the lateral line and along the bases of the two dorsal fins.
