I found this gecko by flashlight; it was prowling around on the grounds of the Berenty lodge. I thought I got two good pictures of it but in reality I got one double-exposed bad picture, not worth reproducing here.

Make sure a shallow dish with water is available at all times. Feeding consists of a main diet of crickets coated with a vitamin and calcium supplement. Some of the best supplements on the market are Rep-Cal (calcium and vitamin D) and Nekton-Rep (vitamin). At feeding time, use Rep-Cal as a major component for vitamin and mineral supplementation.

Madagaskar ground gecko eller Paroedura pictus som den heter på latin är en liten och pigg gecko som är mycket lätt att få att trivas i terrariet. Som namnet antyder är den marklevande och om man tar sig till Madagaskar kan man om man har tur träffa på den under något löv eller under någon rot på skogsgolvet. Den lever den på Madagaskars västra, södra och östra delar.
