Dolphins - English
URL: http://www.press.jhu.edu/books/walkers_mammals_of_the_world/cetacea/cetacea.delp

The Delphinidae include the most agile and some of the most speedy cetaceans. They commonly surface several times a minute and frequently leap clear of the water. Many species follow ships and seem to frolic about the bow. They have remarkable group precision and regularity of movement. Migration is known to occur in some species.

Delphinidae Family - English
URL: http://animaldiversity.ummz.umich.edu/chordata/mammalia/cetacea/delphinidae.html

Delphinds are found in all oceans and seas and in some river systems. They generally live in shallow water or at least stay near the surface, not making the deep and prolonged dives that characterize some other groups of cetaceans. They are fast and acrobatic swimmers, feeding on fishes and squids, which they pursue actively.

The Delphinidae family is the largest family of cetaceans. It is composed of the killer whale, the pilot whale, and various dolphin species. Members of this family are found in seas all over the world and are usually in the shallower water. They do not make the long, prolonged dives that some other cetaceans do.

Dolphins and Porpoises Delphinidae and Phocoenidae Information Page - English
URL: http://www.everythingdolphins.com/DolphinInfo.htm

Dolphins and porpoises are cetaceans, which are animals in the whale family. Dolphins and porpoises are considered to be small whales. All dolphins and porpoises are toothed whales, or odontocetes. However, dolphins and porpoises differ in the type of teeth they have. Dolphins have sharp teeth, while porpoises have teeth that are spade or shovel shaped. In fact, scientists generally use tooth shape as a way of classifying dolphins and porpoises. Dolphins also tend to have a pointy mouth or "beak" and a curved dorsal fin, but not always.
